To give you an idea of how popular the Costa Del Sol, the province of Malaga, is with tourists - the population is 1.3 million before tourists are taken into account - last year 12 million tourists visited the Costa del Sol!
As well as many sandy beaches, you have mountain ranges - the Sierra Bermeja behind Estepona forms the backdrop to Marbella. Away from the coast you have a contrast to the built up coastline with several picturesque Andalusian villages.
Malaga is the coast's capital and has all the amenities you'd expect of a major city.
The main resort is Marbella with the famous harbour, Puerto Banus and the Golden Mile. Properties here are very expensive and if you are in any doubt about the worth of the owners, check out the yachts in the harbour!!
This area is well known for its excellent golf courses and nightlife, checking out Spanish property investment, and the golf courses and was very impressed with several developments, and less so with some others!!
Due to the climate, the relatively low prices and flexible flights from the UK, and the buoyant UK property market, prices here have risen by approximately 20% in both 2002 and 2003. >
